COVID19 Response: Online or outdoor classes are available in lieu of in person instruction. I am observing with precaution in regard to how Ottawa area school boards are putting safety measures into place and will be closely monitoring how things progress.

Program Outline

    • The Basics of Drawing
    • Tone Drawing using Charcoal
    • The Basics of Oil Painting
    • Introduction to Colour Theory
    • The Basics of Colour Painting
    • Introduction to the Masters Techniques
    • Painting Outdoors (Plein Air Painting)
  • Students will learn fundamental techniques such as how to see when drawings need correction, as well as the many tools available to make the necessary corrections to their drawings. Children from age 10  and up are taught the same techniques as adults with suitable modifications in consideration for younger children. Other areas of study in various mediums and techniques are also available such as figure drawing, portraits and pastels.

Important items to note:  

  • The scheduling of classes will coincide on a first-come/enrolled basis.
  • Initial drawing materials are supplied for use free of charge. Once you progress from line drawing to charcoal shading and beyond, there are some materials to buy and a list will be provided.

How do I sign up?

To sign up, contact Laura. Include information about your art background (if any) and preferred class time.

Regarding missed classes or a change of schedule:
1. Call or message the studio beforehand if you will be missing a class.
2. Make up classes must be scheduled by the student.
3. A make up class are to be done in addition to a regular class.
4. Make up classes can not be carried forward into the next month.
